The Truth about Dogma

I’m about to talk some serious smack about religious dogma if ya don’t mind. It may be uncomfy, but it’s gotta be said—dogma leads to trauma, and strict dogma has hurt more people than it’s helped.

Here’s what happens when rigid beliefs co-opt spiritual/religious communities:

Dogma creates cults—not healthy communities. It turns the quest for honest spiritual connection into a prison instead of a path towards more love and freedom.

Dogma disempowers people, and asks folks to blindly follow power-hungry leaders who often thrive on gaslighting and silencing truth.

Dogma leads to violence. It fuels hatred, turns allies into enemies, and instead of empathy and understanding, it turns our differences into division instead of our strengths.

Our religious ancestors weaponized the sacred texts to abuse, steal money, land, and control people. They’re still doing it–its power-mongering wrapped in the robes of Jesus, and it’s time to take the power back.

Remember this:

👉🏽 You weren’t born a sinner. You were born a blessing.

If it doesn’t feel like love, it’s not love. It’s religious abuse. Walk away. Don’t let the bullies punk you. You were already received…with your first breath.

May you receive this message all the way into your heart my sib, cuz that’s where it belongs. :-)
