This post might trigger you, but if you want to participate in spiritual communities or lead spiritual communities, it’s a must read.
Have you ever noticed how some spiritual communities can feel, well... kinda judgey, or way too serious? Maybe they give off the vibe that they’re more “ascended” or spiritually “woke” than everyone else? 👀 👀
They talk a certain way, look a certain way, eat a certain way, or promote perfect yoga bods and rigid spiritual practices. But why are these spiritual spaces so rigid and low-key exclusive??
Here’s an uncomfortable truth: It’s because they are unconsciously promoting religious patriarchy.
Here’s why…
👉🏽 Feeling “ascended” or “more spiritual” than others? That’s similar lingo used by religious supremacists. Ya know, the whole “chosen” by God thingy? Religious superiority wrapped in yoga pants.
👉🏽 Perfect bodies, strict diets, and rigid views on what “spiritual” looks like? It's religious purity and perfectionism culture 2.0.
Most of us don’t want to perpetuate this stuff on purpose. It’s often really unconscious. And it’s time for all of us to take the power back.
Just know this…
God doesn’t put you in a box. People do.
You are loved the way you are and always have been.
Don’t wait for perfection to come because…it won’t.
Embrace yourself as the Great Spirit does, right now.
We are so powerful alone, but we’re a force of nature together.
